AI & Data Event with TWDS (Taiwan Data Science Meetup)
In May, Taiwan Next and Taiwan Data Science Meetup teamed up to host the GenAI in Action, drawing over 150 AI enthusiasts for an evening of deep, practical insights. From cutting-edge trends to real startup lessons, the event opened our minds to what’s next.

Jack Lin kicked things off with his industry expertise, showing how Generative AI can mesh structured and unstructured data into a seamless Q&A system. He broke down the hottest AI frameworks, explaining how they work and where they’re already making an impact, grounding every point in real-world examples.
Then Nelson Chu shared an entrepreneur’s view, explaining how he built an AI tool that lawyers and doctors actually trust. By using AI to pre-screen documents, he has streamlined workflows, turning medical and legal records into courtroom-ready files. Nelson also walked us through the steps of building user trust, from developing the model and rolling out subscriptions to partnering with external teams to keep improving. As more professionals signed on, it became clear the market was maturing, highlighting both hurdles and the significant promise of commercializing AI.

When the floor opened for questions, the room buzzed as attendees dove into technical details, industry applications, startup challenges, and product design. It was proof that AI isn’t just a buzzword but is already changing how we work.
